You
can note straightaway the characteristics of an accurate workmanship
in the finishing of our belts, handmade and the result of many years
of experience.
The finishing that concerns the edges, evolves around four different
operations:
1 - Trimming of the edges: its objective is to make them rounded and uniform, eliminating any
imperfections. To do so the belt has to be manually dragged by a skilful person in order that the
edges are uniformly smoothed against an abrasive disc that spins rapidly.
2 - A resinous wax is applied as a base, preparing the belt for the next step which is shaping the
edges. The wax is applied by passing the belt between two discs of the
vertical special machine, the discs have to transfer accurately the wax on the two edges at the same
time without smearing.
3 - The shaping of the edges is done manually through brushing in order to make the edges smooth and
compact. Once again great skill and attention is required as the previous cutting procedure, but this time by a special
soft rotating brush.
4 - The colouring of the edges, the same as the colour of the belt, is obtained by running the belts by hand
against the rotating cylinder of the special horizontal machine in order that the edge receives the perfect colouring.
